The initial usage report of Formula 4-10 (LIQUID BEARING) in the SECOND STEEL REFINING PLANT of BEIJING SHOUGANG IRON AND STEEL COMPANY

In order to improve the lubrication of our equipment, reduce the mechanical friction and extend the overhaul period, we invited the managers from SINO-STATE DEVELOPMENTS (CANADA) LTD. to our factory to demonstrate their product FORMULA 4-10 on 6th of May. In the meantime, our factory Director, Mr. Wu Wei Xi, the Master of the Machinery Department and Senior Engineer, Mr.Chen Zi Hua and another twenty engineers from different plants to attend the meeting. From the results of the demonstration, it was able to prove the function of depositing sediment and reducing the coefficient of friction.

We tried a number of different kinds of lubricants during the meeting. Nonetheless, the results were very similar. After 5% of FORMULA 4-10 was added, the noise was reduced, the sediment settled, and the coefficient of friction was reduced up to 5 - 6 times. The reduction in the coefficient of friction was measured at over 8 times after adding 7% of FORMULA 4-10 in local turbine oil NO. 20, NO. 30, AND NO.40.

On 7th of May, we used FORMULA 4-10 on our soil treatment dredger. Some high and medium level technicians, foremen, electrical engineers and fitters were present at the work site. The methods we used were to measure the difference of current and noise change. We repeated the test several times. The results were fully satisfactory.

  1. The noise was obviously reduced. Both amplitude of vibration and displacement were reduced.
  2. The current was reduced from 1.9 ampere to 1.7 ampere. This means the current was decreased 10.5% . In other words, the machinery efficiency was improved 10.5%. Since 10.5% is not a small number, if we apply FORMULA 4-10 on the equipment while the loading remain unchanged, a lot of energy will be saved..

To conclude, applying FORMULA 4-10 in our factory production is a wise decision, not only because of its contribution to the maintenance of machinery, it also improves the working environment.
